Interesting looking hypertext experiment. Reminds me initially of everything2 but probably isn't that similar.

New poll:
What do you think of my new backdrop?
It's cool!
It's okay.
I didn't really notice.
It sucks cigarette butts out of wet concrete.
Results?

The Hermenaut delivers another quality article. I've spent some time thinking about what laziness really is. But not this much.

Interesting looking magazine. It's called Reason. It seems to be about reassonable view points. I've bookmarked it.

If you can cope with the frames and the Britney Spears then Tangents is an okay pop culture zine.

Bukowski poem. Shit. I don't drink alcohol.

I've never read Bukowski. So I need to do a little pre-reading research. Here's an article that I've seen.

I'm not sure that I agree with Mr Coates view of this piece. But it does raise the question of what a blog is these days. One definition (defined by the technology that powers blogs, i.e. Blogger etc.) is: "A coherent entity made up of smaller coherent entities that are anchored in time". I made that one up myself. (Go here for a brief initial guide to my terminology). I think we should except that (or something like it that sounds better) as the definition and get on with it.
The other problem that the guy talks about (a-list bloggers) is interesting. One thing that's happened with Bloghop is the interesting way that completely (or largely) unknown blogs get into the top 20 list while the original A-list fall rapidly downward. (Kottke being an example of this). This is probably to do with the way that blogs form communities. Not sure what I mean by that last bit.
